Prof. Dr. Alper KUŞTARCI

Resume

Dr. Kustarci graduated from the Dental Faculty of Cumhuriyet University in 2002 and started his PhD in the department of Endodontics at the same university. He received his PhD in 2007 and in 2008 he became Assistant Professor and spending his time teaching, giving lectures and participating in the faculty practice. He was conferred on the title of Associate Professor in 2012 and title of Professor in 2018. From 2013 he is working in the Department of Endodontics at the Akdeniz University as Lecturer. Dr. Kustarci has authored scientific articles, and serves as a reviewer/board member/editor to many national and international journals. He is an active member of a number of professional organizations including the European Society of Endodontology, and the Turkish Society of Endodontics. His academic interests include clinical research on endodontic techniques, treatment of large periapical lesions, laser and regenerative endodontics.

Gökhan Dokumacıgil

Résumé

He completed his primary, elementary and high school education in Gaziantep, and graduated from Sivas Cumhuriyet University, Faculty of Dentistry in 2016. He completed his specialization education at Marmara University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Restorative Dentistry in 2019. He has published numerous national and international papers, and gives practical trainings on anterior and posterior direct composite restoration, rubber-dam insulation and dental photography at home and abroad. He is also a 3D animation and graphical designer, and he produces designs for various dental companies. He practices dentistry at his clinic in Etiler, İstanbul and gives Dental Photography lectures at Atlas University, Faculty of Dentistry.

Title: An Outline of Dental Photography

Abstract

With the technological developments, patients’ expectations and legal obligations, photography is becoming a part of our clinical practice in dentistry. Although it has been widely considered as a taboo for those who are not interested in photography, it cannot be denied it has become more feasible and easy to take pictures with new generation of smart phones and cameras. Furthermore, professional photography is even more important for purposes of managing digital work flow, informing patients, education and archiving. This submission discusses the basic questions in dental photography, such as how photography can be made more feasible in dental practice, selection of equipment, camera settings and patient positioning.

Ata Anıl - Türkiye

Resume

He graduated from Istanbul High School for Boys in 1982. After completing his undergraduate education at Çapa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Dentistry, he completed his doctorate degree in implantology at Mainz University. He became an associate professor at Istanbul University in 1997 and later gave lectures at Berlin - Charite University. He is currently the vice dean of the DTMD University of Luxemburg. He is the founder and owner of Ar-Dent Dental Clinic, and served as the chairman of the board of the Educational Foundation of the Alumni of Istanbul High School for Boys Education for four years. Prof. Dr. Anıl is still the President of the Academic Board of IELEV Educational Institutions.

Mehmet Baybora Kayahan - Türkiye

After graduating from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 1995, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Baybora Kayahan completed his doctorate degree in the Department of Endodontics of the same Faculty. In 2000, he started working at Yeditepe University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics. He became Assistant Professor in 2002 and Associate Professor in 2008. Mehmet Baybora Kayahan worked as a Professor at Okan University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics between 2014 and 2021. He still continues his academic career at Istanbul Health and Technology University, Faculty of Dentistry. He is the president of the Turkish Endodontics Association. He served as President of the Asia Pacific Endodontic Confederation (APEC) between 2019 and 2021. He was the President of the Association of Dentistry Laser Academy (DİLAD) between 2019 and 2021. He became the Chairman of the Education Commission of the World Endodontics Association (IFEA), and he was re-elected in 2022. He is a certified member of the European Society of Endodontics (ESE).

Bülent Gökçe - Türkiye

Resume

He was born in Fethiye in 1974. He started studying at Ege University, Faculty of Dentistry, and graduated in 1998. In the same year, he started his doctorate education at Ege University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Prosthetic Dentistry. He completed his doctorate education in 2004 and received the title of Associate Professor in 2010 and Professor in 2016. Prof. Dr. Bülent Gökçe is currently working as a faculty member at Ege University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Prosthetic Dentistry.

Ece Eden - Türkiye

Resume

She graduated from Ege University Faculty of Dentistry in 1988, and the Health Sciences Pedodontics Doctorate Program in 1995. She became Associate Professor of Pedodontics in 2000 and Professor in 2006.

She has given conferences in many international congresses in Egypt, China, Philippines, South Korea, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Russia and participated as an invited speaker at the World Dental Association (FDI) Congresses in India in 2014, Poland in 2016, and Argentina in 2018.

She has published many articles and three translation books: “Traumatic Tooth Injuries-Handbook” in 2014, “Contemporary Treatment Methods in Pediatric Dentistry” in 2021 and “Minimal Interventional Dentistry and Atraumatic Restorative Treatment Art and Science” in 2022.

Her book 'Evidence-Based Caries Prevention', which she edited and wrote two chapters, was published in English by Springer Publishing House in 2016.

She still works as a faculty member at Ege University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Pedodontics.

Her professional interests include preventive dentistry, minimally invasive approaches and traumatic dental injuries.

Haşmet Gökdeniz - Türkiye

Resume

He was born in Giresun. He graduated from Istanbul Kabataş High School for Boys, and then from Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry (1981). He completed his PhD (1998) at Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Oral Implantology. He is the Vice President of the Aesthetic Dentistry Academy Association. He is a founding member, former chairman and board member of EDAD Implantology Working Group. He was a member of the board of directors of the Turkish Oral Implantology Association for three terms. He is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists Diplomate and a member of the European Association for Osseointegration. He has many scientific publications in Turkey and abroad. He is the translation reviewer of the book “Applied Implant Dentistry” published by Quintessence Publishing. He is the participating author of the book "Secrets of Success in Dentistry". Since 2002, he has given training to more than a thousand colleagues in the post-graduate courses organized on Basic Oral Implantology and Advanced Surgical techniques. He has given conferences and courses at national and international congresses at home and abroad, and chaired many sessions. He was the Manager and Instructor in the IMEP-Implantology Training Program (Curriculum Implantologie) jointly organized by the German Society of Implantology (DGI) and EDAD-İÇG. He was the Congress President of the 4th International Congress of the EDAD Implantology Working Group and the Quintessence 10th International Symposium. Dr. Haşmet Gökdeniz has a Sinus Lifting Set which he designed and licensed. In 2007, he started working on Platelet-rich Fibrin for the first time in Türkiye and today he is offering practical courses. In 2010, he started to operate the MIAMBE system and conducts practical courses. He is the translation editor of the book “Strategies for the Treatment of Aesthetic Soft and Hard Tissues in Implantology” published by Quintessence Publishing. He is an honorary member of Azerbaijan Implantology Association. He still works in his own private practice.

Kaan Orhan - Türkiye

Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan was born in Çaycuma in 1976. He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Dentistry in 1998. Following his graduation, he started the PhD program in the Department of Oral Diagnosis and Radiology at the same faculty. He was awarded a scholarship by the Japanese Ministry of Education (MONBUSHO) and continued his doctoral studies in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at Osaka University in Japan until 2002. Following his return, he received his PhD at Ankara University in 2003 and continued to work in the same unit as a specialist. He became an Associate Professor in December 2006. Since September 2007, he has been assigned to the Near East University, Faculty of Dentistry as the founder and head of the Department of Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology. He became a professor in March 2012, and still works as the Head of the Department of Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology at Near East University and as a specialist in Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology at Ankara University. Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan has nearly 70 foreign articles, 50 of which are within the scope of SCI, and more than 30 articles in Turkish and 175 citations from these articles. He has been invited as an invited speaker to many national and international congresses related to his expertise. With his significant contributions in the field of Maxillofacial Radiology, Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan is on the Board of the European Society of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology (EADMFR) and is the chairman of the Research and Scientific Committee. He is also a member of the Scientific Research Committee of the World Dentomaxillofacial Radiology Society. A member of many professional associations related to his field, Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan is on the reviewer board of "Oral Surgery Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiol and Endod", which is within the scope of SCI, and also as assistant editor in the "Radiology: Open Access" journal. In addition, he is a reviewer for nearly 20 national and international journals.

Mustafa Kemal Ünsal - Türkiye

Resume

Dentist M. Kemal Unsal was born in 1965 in Ankara. He completed his secondary education at TED Ankara College. He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Dentistry in 1988 and started his doctorate studies in the Prosthesis Department of the same faculty. In 1991, he earned the right to study abroad for his doctorate degree, thanks to the scholarship allocated to universities by the Higher Education Institution.

He became a prosthodontist in October 1994 after successfully defending his doctoral dissertation, which focused on forces applied on implants, at the University of Sheffield, England.

During his career, his work was focused on dental implant applications, the development of metal-free porcelain, and the areas of use of metal-free porcelain on dental implants. He became an associate professor in 1999 and a professor in 2005.

He is a member of the European Association of Osseointegration (EAO) and Aesthetic Dentistry Academy Associations (EDAD).

For the last 20 years, he has been involved in training activities both individually and in groups with his colleagues in order to contribute to the postgraduate training of dentists. He still continues his 'continuous vocational training' activities for Dentists, Dental Technicians and Dentist Assistants.

Since June 2012, he has been the founder and chairman of the organization called TFI (Together for Implantology). TFI is a platform where dentists can share their ideas, studies and information about dental implants within an ethical framework. The financial support of this initiative, which all dentists can participate in free of charge, is provided by NucleOSS implants.

M.Kemal ÜNSAL is a faculty member at Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Prosthetic Dentistry, and offers services to his patients in his own clinic.

Nejat Nizam - Türkiye

Resume

After graduating from Ege University, Faculty of Dentistry in 2003, he completed his doctorate degree at the same university in 2009. He received the title of Associate Professor in 2013. His areas of interest include periodontal plastic surgery applications, hard and soft tissue augmentation around teeth and implants, and implant applications in the aesthetic region. He has over 30 original publications in reputable scientific journals. He still continues his clinical practice and scientific studies in the Department of Periodontology of the same university.

Serhat Köken - Türkiye

Resume

Dentist Serhat Köken graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Dentistry in 1998. He has had his own clinical practice in Istanbul since 2001. He completed his doctorate education at the University of Siena in the Department of Dental Biotechnologies between 2016 and 2020. He has been giving lectures in Prosthesis and Digital Dentistry Master Programs at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Siena, Italy since 2017. He has published articles in international peer-reviewed journals. Serhat Köken has made presentations and given practical courses on direct composite restorations and dental photography at many national and international meetings and events.

Yurdanur Uçar - Türkiye

Resume

She graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Dentistry in 1999, and the same year, she started her doctoral education at Çukurova University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Prosthetic Dentistry. She went to Ohio State University in the United States in 2003 as a YÖK scholar and completed her master's degree in Dental Materials in 2005 and her doctoral studies in Oral Biology in 2007. After completing her doctorate degree in Prosthetic Dentistry at Çukurova University in 2007, Dr. Uçar was appointed as an assistant professor to the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry in 2008, became Associate Professor of Prosthetic Dentistry in 2012 and Professor in 2019. Dr. Uçar served as the Deputy Dean of Education and Head of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry. She served as a faculty member in the Department of Biotechnology and the Founding Head of the Department of Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology at the same university. She was a board member of the Ankara branch of the Turkish Association of Prosthodontics and Implantology (TPID). He also served as a board member and former chairman of the Implant Research Group (IRG) of International Association for Dental Research (IADR). She has numerous citations to her national and international publications and has participated in many clinical studies in the field of dental implantology. She has completed projects supported by TÜBİTAK, Çukurova University BAP Unit, ITI, DENTSPLY and TFI. Her research interests include additive manufacturing methods, dental implantology, color and mechanical properties of ceramic materials and hard tissue engineering. She has a start-up company called BioFuture, which mainly focuses ony bone tissue production under laboratory conditions using 3D bioprinters. Dr. Uçar has continued her clinical practice as a prosthodontist at Motto Clinic in Antalya since September 2021 and has been providing national and international training on digital dentistry and implantology. She is also an opinion leader for ITI Fellow and Dentsply Sirona, GC and Formlabs.

Prof.Dr.Hande Şar Sancaklı

She graduated from İstanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 2000. She completed her PhD on Conservative Dental Treatment in 2007 at the Department of Dental Diseases and Treatment of the same university and received her title of PhD/Dr. She received her title of associate professor in December 2012 and professor in 2020. She was a visiting lecturer at King’s College Dental Institute, Guy’s Hospital-UK in 2012. Prof.Dr. Sar Sancaklı has scientific articles on restorative and esthetic dentistry published on Sci, Sci Expanded and Internationally indexed journals, citations and international book chapters and has delivered scientific presentations, lectures and hands-on courses and workshops at international congresses and meetings and lectures at master programs. She received the best speaker award at “Women Dentistry Worldwide” Congress in 2018. At present, she’s a lecturer at İ.Ü. Faculty of Dentistry Department of Dental Diseases. She’s a member of the Foreign Affairs Commission of TDA, chair of FDI-ERO “Continuing Medical Education in Dentistry” Working Group and Director of FDI Continuing Education in Europe.
